Mike Law discussed “getting back to the basics” for the 2010
reunion in
The volunteer positions would be for pre-registration, T-shirts, coordinating the mini-reunion rooms, morning report, etc – Mike L. will supply Ed with a detailed staffing description later. Schedules for volunteers need to be set up.
The reunion schedule, subject to change: Tours of local sites and destination places of interest will be available throughout the June 30 – July 4, 2010 reunion.

Room rate for San Diego Bay Marriott will be $125, good 3 days before & 3 day after reunion. (rack rate over $400.00) price negotiated in 2003.
National will provide unique/special polo shirts to SoCal members who volunteer/help with June 30 – July 4th 2010 reunion.
Volunteer positions presently filled – Bob W. handling Golf, Mike O. handling Coronado Parade.
Tom will be looking for alternate vehicle parking within walking distance of the hotel.
Military Reunion Planners are responsible for all tours.
Carl will be working with Joe Klein on the reunion logo. Bring suggestions to Oct. 17 meeting. Check www.vhpasocal.org for updates.
Charles Holly will be handling online reservations for the mini-reunions.
Need to find a local photographer who will take and sell photos of the reunion events.
Mike would like to see “unit” table ID’s for the Early Bird and Welcome receptions so that attendees will be able to have a gathering point.
The mini reunion room area will have a type of hospitality suite with serve yourself and leave a donation keg beer.
Need to arrange and coordinate local media coverage.
Need listings of nearby restaurants, transportation, shopping, etc. Chamber of Commerce? National will help arrange reservations for member units etc.
